With Denver Fashion Week (DFW) presented by Mile High Luxury Real Estate less than a week away, there’s no shortage of events to look forward to. There is something for everyone, from the casual shopper to the fashion devotee, including runway showsworkshops and networking events.

For anyone who can’t make the runway shows but wants to partake in the festivities, these events around Denver will help you do just that. In celebration of DFW, locals in the fashion industry will host events where you and your friends can come network, collaborate, shop, enjoy and enter for a chance to win tickets to DFW.

Denver Fashion Week Industry Meet Up Presented by Fashion Group Denver

When: Monday, November 5, 6:30 -8:30 p.m.
Where: The ART, a Hotel — 1201 Broadway, Denver
Cost: Free, Make sure to RSVP here.

The Lowdown: Come mix and mingle with other fashion professionals to celebrate the kickoff of DFW at The Art Hotel. Fashion Group International (FGI) is one of the city’s most significant fashion professional organizations devoted to helping its members become more effective in their careers. Model Workshop

Where: McNichols Civic Center Building- 144 W Colfax Ave., Denver
Cost: $25+ get tickets here 

The Lowdown: If you’ve ever wanted to walk the DFW runway, this is a must attend event. Hosted by DFW model coordinator, Julie Gallahue, you’ll get an inside look at how to best prepare for casting, how to perfect your walk, backstage etiquette and more important tips.

Evey K, Fashionliner and The Look Salon

When: Monday, November 7, 5 – 7 p.m.
Where: The Look Salon — 75 S. Madison St. #100, Denver
The EventEvey K will collaborate with The Look Salon for an event in Cherry Creek for a sip and shop. Come sip, shop, and get beautified during the week of DFW. Designer Workshop

The Lowdown: Aspiring or new designers, mark your calendars. This two part workshop will welcome top experts in the field to talk about important industry topics. First Carol Engel-Enright, Ph.D of Department of Design and Merchandising at Colorado State University, will lead your through a panel discussion about small batch manufacturing. Afterwards, stick around to learn how to identify fabric without knowing the fiber content in a workshop with Colorado Fabrics.

Spruce

When: November 5 – 9
Where: 4347 Tennyson St., Denver
The Event
Spruce is raffling away a pair of tickets to Denver Fashion Week for the Hair Show on Sunday, November 11. Come shop the week of Denver Fashion Week to find an outfit you’d wear or even get a new hairdo for the show. Enter the raffle at checkout! Winner will be announced Saturday.

Rustic Thread

Fashion & Film

Cost: $5+ get tickets here 

The Lowdown: Denver Fashion Week is teaming up with Denver Film Festival for this special discussion with Courtney Hoffman. Hoffman is a celebrated costume designer who is known for her work on Quentin Tarantino films like Django Unchained, where she was the personal costumier for Christoph Waltz. She was also the costume designer for Magic Mike, Baby Driver, The Hateful Eight and many more. Denver Center For the Performing Arts’ costumer designer, Kevin Copenhaver, will lead what is sure to be a riveting discussion with Hoffman. Afterwards, head downstairs for a reception at an immersive lounge designed by Denver’s Invisible City.

DENVER X PORTLAND Maker Panel Discussion

When: Friday, November 9, 7 – 9 p.m.
Where: Zeppelin Station — 3501 Wazee St. Suite #100, Denver
The Event: Zeppelin Station is hosting a DENVER X PORTLAND Maker Panel Discussion. Presented by Eyes Open Project and Denver Fashion Week, the panel will be moderated by Vanessa Barcus, formerly of the boutique Goldyn. The first 50 people to the event will receive a gift bag from Eyes Open Project. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the panel begins at 8 p.m. The panel will discuss what it means to be a maker in a smaller scale city, like Denver or Portland. The discussion features Denver panelists from Winter Session, C.R. LEE and Mercury Mercury  whereas the Portland panelist includes Barrow PDX and Bridge & Burn.

Zeppelin Station and Big Trouble ’90s Party

What: After the panel discussion, Zeppelin Station is hosting a “Dream of the ’90s” after party to coincide with the panel event. Sip on some drinks from Big Trouble while dancing to the tunes of DJ Ginger Perry.
